T. E. Lawrence
Thomas Edward Lawrence
was born in 1888, in Tremadoc, Wales. As an archaeologist he took part
in excavations in Anatolia and Syria. From 1916 to 1918 he participated
in the organisation of the Arab revolt against the Turks as a British
Agent and in 1919 supported the Arab's independence. He then joined the
Royal Air Force as a simple soldier, using a pseudonym, and spent a
longer period of time in India. Only a few weeks after he resigned from
his military service, he died in a motorcycle accident in 1935 in
Moreton, England. His major literary works, "The Seven Pillars of
Wisdom" and "Revolt in the Desert", were published in 1926.
